Advisory board

The Advisory Board (AB) oversees PRIMAGE’s work progress. The 6 members of the AB are senior and distinguished persons who between them have substantial experience on key and relevant areas of PRIMAGE:

  • Science & Technology: Imaging biomarkers; pediatric oncology research (Neurablastoma and DIPG);
  • Uptake and future sustainability: Hospital/Radiology Information and Pictures Archiving Systems (HIS/RIS, PACS); Pharma industry related to oncology treatment;
  • Compliance with regulation: Data treatment (GDPR).

The AB is chaired by the Project Coordinator and the Technical Manager. Its main goal is to give general advice and guidance to the consortium. It will meet annually and will be consulted by teleconference at other times when needed.

The following recognised experts are part of the initial tentative composition of the AB:

Prof. Dr. Gabriel P. Krestin (Expert Advisor in Imaging Biomarkers)
Full professor of radiology, chairman of the Department of Radiology at Erasmus MC, University Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since 1998, he is a permanent Visiting Professor at Stanford University Medical School. He is also the Scientific Director of EIBIR (European Institute for Biomedical Research). Prof. Krestin is a member of numerous national (DRG, SGR-SSR, DEGUM, NVvR) and international (ESR, RSNA, ISMRM, ESMRMB, ESUR, SUR, ISSSR, ESGAR, AURE) societies, he was President of the European Society of Radiology (2012-2013), and serves on the editorial board of several international journals (European Radiology, Abdominal Imaging, Investigative Radiology, MagMa, Der Radiologe, Contrast Media and Molecular Imaging) He is author of over 200 original articles, over 60 book chapters, and editor of 7 books some of which have been translated into several languages. His main area of research is molecular imaging.

Prof. Dr. Angelika Eggert (Expert Advisor in Neuroblastoma)
Director of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Oncology and Hematology, Charité Universitätsmedizin (Berlin). She is one the world-experts in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, especially the molecular biology and genetics of neuroblastoma. Research approaches include genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic and proteomic analyses of primary tumors and cell culture and animal models focused on biologically relevant molecules.. Dr. Eggert is also head of the German neuroblastomaclinical trial group.

Prof. Dr. Sophie Veldhuijzen van Zanten (Expert Advisor in DIPG)
Based in Amsterdam, she is specialized in DIPG research. Sophie is the SIOPE DIPG Registry Research Project Manager. She is member of the SIOPE DIPG Network and the overseas colleagues affiliated with the International DIPG Registry and the DIPG collaborative. Her research interest is focused on the studies resulting from the Registries, with special interest in DIPG imaging (such as molecular drug imaging by means of PET), alternative drug delivery strategies (such as Convection-Enhanced Delivery and Ultrasound-mediated Drug Delivery) and Quality of Life/Palliative Care.

Jose Luís García Fernandez (Expert Advisor in Pharma uptake and Big Data) Senior medical professional of Medical Affairs, Preclinical and Clinical R&D, Medical Education, Medical Operations and Pharmacovigilance/RMP. He currently works for EUSA Pharma as Senior Medical Director. Previously he has worked as Chief Scientific Officer in Savana Medica, Senior Medical Director at Celgene and Clinical Unit Manager at Roche. Santos Angel Lopez Brazo (Expert Advisor in PACS, HIS and RIS systems) Business Development Manager at Carestream Health, one of the most innovative RIS and PACS vendors worldwide. Carestream Health is a worldwide provider of medical imaging systems and IT solutions; X-ray imaging systems for non-destructive testing; and advanced materials for the precision films and electronics markets. With operations in over 150 countries and more than 600 patents for medical imaging. Previous to Carestream, he has worked in the PACS division of Kodak as business development and projects implementation coordinator. He has a vast experience in the functioning and implementation of PACS, HIS and RIS in Hospitals and R&D Centres.

Jose Miguel Rosell Tejada (Expert Advisor in GDPR and cybersecurity)
He is currently a Managing Partner of S2 Grupo. Consultant specialized in Security, Exploitation of critical systems and Real-Time Management Systems. Founder of the cybersecurity enterprise S2 Grupo. Specialist in security audits and in the implementation of Management Systems by processes based on different referents (ISO 27001, ISO 9000, ISO 28000, ISO 2000, ISO 14001, etc.) and in the monitoring and control of processes in real time. Member of the Committee of the Independent Experts of the National (Spain) Cybersecurity Strategy.
